Frequently Answered Questions
Do you offer Free SSL?
SSL Certificates can only be issued by Certificate Authority (CA). Thus, Free SSL can only be obtained from CAs such as Let's Encrypt, SSL For Free, to name a few. Once you obtain the Free SSL certificate, SecureAX is able to help you install the certificate for free if your service plan with us covers this scope. Otherwise a small installation fee may apply.
What about Free vs Paid SSL Certificates?
Yes, there are Free SSL certificates such as the commonly used Let's Encrypt SSL. These SSL certificates are absolutely free with the same encryption level as the paid one.
However, recall that the reasons for having an SSL Certificates are (1) Better Security, (2) Verified Identity, (3) Get Paid. With Paid SSL Certificates, these reasons are all met.
On the other hand, with a Free SSL Certificate, you get only (1) Better Security. As only Domain Validation (DV) is done by Free SSL certificate authority, there is a limited level of trust endorsement that can be done to your company or brand name. Free SSL certificates also do not come with any insurance or warranty to protect you from potential litigation.
